Crossocheilus siamensis
The Siamese Algae Eater (Crossocheilus siamensis) is a freshwater fish originating from Southeast Asia. These fish are known for their ability to consume various types of algae, making them a popular choice for planted aquariums. They have a slender, elongated body with a distinctive black stripe running horizontally from the snout through the tail. This species prefers a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding places among rocks and driftwood. Siamese Algae Eaters are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other community fish. They are omnivorous, accepting a varied diet that includes algae, high-quality flake food, and small frozen or live foods. Breeding in captivity is undocumented.
