Hemigrammus erythrozonus
The Glowlight Tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus) is a popular freshwater fish native to the clearwater streams of South America. Characterized by a translucent body and a distinctive, bright orange to red stripe extending from its snout to the base of its tail, this tetra makes an excellent addition to a community aquarium. Glowlight Tetras are schooling fish, displaying active and engaging behavior when kept in groups of five or more. They thrive in planted aquariums, which provide both shelter and a natural-looking environment. Ideal water conditions include slightly acidic, soft water with stable parameters. Glowlight Tetras readily accept a variety of small foods, including flakes, micro pellets, frozen and live foods like brine shrimp and daphnia.
