GloFish®, Galactic Purple ®Tetra

The GloFish® Galactic Purple Tetra is a selectively bred variant of the black skirt tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi). It is characterized by its vibrant purple fluorescent coloration, a result of genetic modification. This peaceful fish typically reaches a size of around 5.5 cm. It thrives in a well-maintained freshwater aquarium with a minimum tank size of 75 liters. Ideal water parameters include a temperature range of 20-28°C, a pH between 6.0 and 7.5, and a general hardness (GH) of 5-19 dGH. As an omnivore, its diet should consist of a variety of flake foods, small granules, and occasional live or frozen foods. They are best kept in groups of six or more to encourage natural schooling behavior and reduce stress. GloFish® are not dyed, and their unique coloration is passed down to their offspring.
