GloFish®, Cosmic Blue® Tetra

The GloFish® Cosmic Blue® Tetra (Gymnocorymbus sp.) is a selectively bred variant of the Black Skirt Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi), known for its vibrant blue fluorescent coloration. These fish are created through genetic modification, incorporating genes from marine organisms that produce fluorescent proteins. The resulting color is inherited and does not fade over time. GloFish® tetras are generally peaceful and suitable for community aquariums with other non-aggressive fish of similar size and temperament. They thrive in well-maintained freshwater environments and are relatively easy to care for, making them a popular choice for beginner aquarists. They are omnivorous and will accept a varied diet of flake food, frozen food, and small live foods.
