Albino Bristlenose Pleco

Freshwater

Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus

The Albino Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus) is a small, popular species of South American suckermouth catfish characterized by its light pink or yellowish coloration and the presence of facial bristles, which are more prominent in males. Reaching a maximum size of approximately 13 cm, this pleco is suitable for aquariums with a capacity of at least 113 liters. Albino Bristlenose Plecos are generally peaceful but can exhibit territorial behavior towards other males. They are primarily nocturnal, though they may become more active during daylight hours if provided with adequate hiding places. While they do not primarily consume wood, the presence of driftwood can provide beneficial biofilm. Their diet should consist primarily of vegetable matter, supplemented with occasional meaty foods. This hardy fish thrives in a temperature range of 22 to 30°C and a pH between 6.5 and 7.5.
